Description

A simple and sweet side dish of glazed carrots.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Place sliced carrots in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 10-12 minutes, or until tender-crisp.
  2. Drain the carrots.
  3. Return carrots to the saucepan. Add butter, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir over medium heat until butter is melted and carrots are coated. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of orange juice or a pinch of cinnamon.
