Cinnamon Roll Coffee Cake

Description

A delicious coffee cake with cinnamon roll flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, sour cream, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  4. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
  5. Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake is baking, make the glaze. In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before drizzling with the glaze.
  9. Cut and serve.

Notes

  • You can add chopped nuts to the topping.
  • For a richer flavor, use buttermilk instead of milk.
