Description

A simple sweet and savory appetizer featuring dates wrapped in bacon and baked until crispy.

Ingredients

  • 24 pitted dates
  • 12 slices bacon, cut in half
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using, mix brown sugar and rosemary in a small bowl.
  3. Wrap each date with a half-slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if needed.
  4. If using the sugar and rosemary mixture, roll the bacon-wrapped dates in it.
  5. Place the wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and browned.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can stuff the dates with a small piece of cheese like goat cheese or blue cheese before wrapping them in bacon.
  • If you don’t have toothpicks, you can secure the bacon by overlapping the ends tightly.
