A simple sweet and savory appetizer featuring dates wrapped in bacon and baked until crispy.
Ingredients
- 24 pitted dates
- 12 slices bacon, cut in half
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If using, mix brown sugar and rosemary in a small bowl.
- Wrap each date with a half-slice of bacon, securing with a toothpick if needed.
- If using the sugar and rosemary mixture, roll the bacon-wrapped dates in it.
- Place the wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and browned.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can stuff the dates with a small piece of cheese like goat cheese or blue cheese before wrapping them in bacon.
- If you don’t have toothpicks, you can secure the bacon by overlapping the ends tightly.
