Description

A simple and delicious homemade Margherita pizza.


Ingredients

  • 1 ball pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If you have a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Lightly flour a clean surface and stretch or roll out your pizza dough to your desired thickness.
  3. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
  5. Arrange the fresh mozzarella slices over the sauce.
  6. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or place the baking sheet in the oven.
  8. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves.
  10. Slice and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, use a pizza stone or steel.
  • You can add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat.
  • Ensure your mozzarella is fresh and not pre-shredded for the best melt.
