Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups bread cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 tsp sage
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 5 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup fried onions


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
  2. Rub turkey with softened butter, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place turkey in roasting pan and cook for 3-4 hours.
  4. For stuffing, sauté onion and celery in butter. Mix with bread cubes, sage, thyme, and broth.
  5. Bake stuffing for 30 minutes at 350°F.
  6. Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with milk and butter.
  7. Mix green beans with soup, top with fried onions, and bake for 25 minutes at 350°F.
  8. Serve all dishes warm.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to check turkey doneness (165°F).
