Description
A rich and decadent chocolate cake without flour.
Ingredients
- 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat.
- Whisk in the sugar.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then add the salt.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center still has a slight wobble.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

- For a richer flavor, use high-quality chocolate.
- You can serve this cake with fresh berries or whipped cream.
