Description
A festive sugar cookie cake shaped like a four-leaf clover.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 egg
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Green gel food coloring
- Frosting of your choice
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla and almond extracts, and egg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the dough into four equal portions.
- Add green food coloring to each portion, mixing until you get your desired shade of green.
- On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, shape each portion of dough into a circle. Arrange the circles to form a clover shape, slightly overlapping.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cake cool completely.
- Frost and decorate as desired.
Notes
- You can adjust the amount of food coloring to achieve your preferred green color.
- Feel free to use your favorite frosting recipe or store-bought frosting.
