Garlic Butter Roasted Turkey Breast

Description

A simple and flavorful roasted turkey breast recipe perfect for smaller gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 (3-4 pound) boneless, skin-on turkey breast
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
  4. Carefully loosen the skin from the turkey breast by sliding your fingers between the skin and the meat.
  5. Spread about half of the garlic butter mixture evenly under the skin, directly onto the meat.
  6. Spread the remaining garlic butter mixture over the top of the skin.
  7. Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan.
  8. Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
  9. Roast for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast registers 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with the pan juices every 20-30 minutes.
  10. If the skin starts to brown too quickly, loosely tent the turkey breast with aluminum foil.
  11. Once cooked, remove the turkey breast from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a lemon half and a few sprigs of fresh rosemary and thyme to the roasting pan.
  • If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
