Description
A simple and flavorful roasted turkey breast recipe perfect for smaller gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 (3-4 pound) boneless, skin-on turkey breast
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Pat the turkey breast dry with paper towels.
- Carefully loosen the skin from the turkey breast by sliding your fingers between the skin and the meat.
- Spread about half of the garlic butter mixture evenly under the skin, directly onto the meat.
- Spread the remaining garlic butter mixture over the top of the skin.
- Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan.
- Pour the chicken broth into the bottom of the roasting pan.
- Roast for 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the breast registers 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with the pan juices every 20-30 minutes.
- If the skin starts to brown too quickly, loosely tent the turkey breast with aluminum foil.
- Once cooked, remove the turkey breast from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before carving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a lemon half and a few sprigs of fresh rosemary and thyme to the roasting pan.
- If you don’t have fresh garlic, you can use 1 teaspoon of garlic powder.
