Description
Easy-to-make bars with a gooey pecan filling on a shortbread crust.
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and salt until well combined.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Pour the pecan mixture evenly over the crust.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are golden brown.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon to the pecan filling.
- Ensure the bars are completely cool before slicing for clean cuts.
