A classic and comforting green bean casserole recipe, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup fried onions, divided
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook green beans until tender-crisp. Drain well.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and black pepper.
- Add the drained green beans and half of the fried onions to the soup mixture. Stir to combine.
- Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top with the remaining fried onions.
- Bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can use cream of celery soup instead of cream of mushroom soup.
- Freshly ground black pepper will provide a better taste.
- You can blanch the green beans ahead of time to save time on assembly.
