Description

A classic and comforting green bean casserole recipe, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup fried onions, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook green beans until tender-crisp. Drain well.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, and black pepper.
  4. Add the drained green beans and half of the fried onions to the soup mixture. Stir to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and top with the remaining fried onions.
  8. Bake for another 5 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, you can use cream of celery soup instead of cream of mushroom soup.
  • Freshly ground black pepper will provide a better taste.
  • You can blanch the green beans ahead of time to save time on assembly.
