Hot Spiced Buttered Rum

Description

A warm and comforting winter cocktail.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 cups dark rum
  • 4 cups hot water
  • Cinnamon sticks, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Mix until smooth.
  2. In a mug, add 2 tablespoons of the butter mixture.
  3. Pour in 1/4 cup of rum.
  4. Top with 1 cup of hot water.
  5. Stir well until the butter mixture is dissolved.
  6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick, if desired.

Notes

  • You can make the butter mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator.
  • Adjust the amount of rum and water to your taste.
