Korean Beef Bulgogi

Description

Thinly sliced marinated beef, grilled to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onions, chopped, for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and pepper.
  2. Add the sliced beef and onion to the marinade. Mix well.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
  4. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Grill or pan-fry the beef until cooked through, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  7. Serve with rice and your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • For a spicier bulgogi, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • You can also add sliced mushrooms to the marinade.
