Description

A refreshing, minty lemonade perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any sunny day.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Green food coloring (optional)
  • Lemon slices, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Make simple syrup: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Muddle mint: In a pitcher, gently muddle the mint leaves.
  3. Combine ingredients: Add the simple syrup, lemon juice, and cold water to the pitcher. Stir well.
  4. Add color (optional): If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring until you reach your desired shade.
  5. Serve: Pour over ice, garnish with lemon slices and extra mint sprigs.

Notes

  • For a stronger mint flavor, muddle the mint leaves more thoroughly.
  • Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less simple syrup.
