Description
Sweet and tender carrots coated in a rich maple and brown sugar butter glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Place the sliced carrots in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes. Drain the carrots.
- In the same saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the brown sugar and maple syrup until combined.
- Add the drained carrots to the saucepan. Toss to coat evenly with the glaze.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens and coats the carrots.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the glaze.
- If you prefer softer carrots, boil them for a few minutes longer.
