Description
A simple cake with the flavor of matcha green tea.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons matcha powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder with a little bit of the batter to make a smooth paste, then add it to the main batter.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

- You can add a simple glaze on top.
