A refreshing twist on a classic mocha with a hint of peppermint.
Ingredients
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
- Whipped cream for topping (optional)
- Crushed candy canes for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Brew your coffee and set aside.
- In a saucepan, whisk together the milk, cocoa powder, and sugar.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it is hot but not boiling.
- Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract.
- Pour the hot chocolate mixture into your brewed coffee.
- Stir well to combine.
- Pour into a mug.
- Top with whipped cream and crushed candy canes if desired.

- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
- Adjust the amount of peppermint extract to your preference.
