These biscuits combine pumpkin with cheddar cheese for a savory treat.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 3/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the cheddar cheese.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree and milk.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Serve warm.

- For a spicier biscuit, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
