Spanish Seafood Paella

Description

A classic Spanish rice dish with seafood.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup paella rice
  • 4 cups seafood broth
  • 1/2 tsp saffron threads
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb mussels, cleaned
  • 1/2 lb calamari, cleaned and sliced
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • Lemon wedges, for serving


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a paella pan or large skillet.
  2. Sauté onion and bell pepper until softened. Add garlic.
  3. Stir in rice and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add broth and saffron. Bring to a boil.
  5. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Add shrimp, mussels, and calamari. Cook until seafood is done.
  7. Stir in peas.
  8. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
  9. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • You can add other seafood like clams or scallops.
  • Adjust cooking time based on your seafood.
