Description
A classic Spanish rice dish with seafood.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup paella rice
- 4 cups seafood broth
- 1/2 tsp saffron threads
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb mussels, cleaned
- 1/2 lb calamari, cleaned and sliced
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a paella pan or large skillet.
- Sauté onion and bell pepper until softened. Add garlic.
- Stir in rice and cook for 1 minute.
- Add broth and saffron. Bring to a boil.
- Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add shrimp, mussels, and calamari. Cook until seafood is done.
- Stir in peas.
- Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
- You can add other seafood like clams or scallops.
- Adjust cooking time based on your seafood.
