Description
This recipe combines the best of both worlds: a brownie and a cookie. You get a fudgy brownie base topped with a chewy cookie.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking pan with parchment paper.
- Make the brownie batter: In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Stir in vanilla and eggs until combined.
- Add flour and mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan.
- Make the cookie dough: In a separate bowl, cream together brown sugar and softened butter.
- Beat in vanilla and egg.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the brownie part comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let cool completely before cutting and serving.
Notes
- For extra fudgy brownies, don’t overbake.
- You can use different types of chocolate chips.
