Description

Make a delicious chai latte on your stovetop.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 black tea bags
  • 4 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 inch ginger, sliced
  • 2-4 tablespoons sugar or honey, to taste


Instructions

  1. Combine water, tea bags, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add milk and sugar or honey.
  4. Heat gently, but do not boil.
  5. Strain the chai into mugs.
  6. Serve hot.
