Make a delicious chai latte on your stovetop.
Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 black tea bags
- 4 green cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1/2 inch ginger, sliced
- 2-4 tablespoons sugar or honey, to taste
Instructions
- Combine water, tea bags, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger in a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add milk and sugar or honey.
- Heat gently, but do not boil.
- Strain the chai into mugs.
- Serve hot.

- For a stronger flavor, simmer the spices for longer.
