Ingredients
- 4 large tomatoes
- 2 cans (5 ounces each) tuna, drained
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 slices cheddar cheese, halved
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the tomatoes and scoop out the insides.
- In a bowl, mix together the tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, salt, and pepper.
- Fill each tomato with the tuna mixture.
- Top each tomato with two half slices of cheddar cheese.
- Place the tomatoes in a baking dish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
- You can use different types of cheese, such as mozzarella or provolone.
