Description
These cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day. They feature a rich chocolate ganache.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and egg.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
- Pour the hot cream over the semi-sweet chocolate chips and let it sit for a minute.
- Stir until smooth.
- Drizzle the ganache over the cooled cookies.
Notes
- You can add sprinkles on top of the ganache.
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
