Description

These cookies are perfect for Valentine’s Day. They feature a rich chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and egg.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  10. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it just begins to simmer.
  11. Pour the hot cream over the semi-sweet chocolate chips and let it sit for a minute.
  12. Stir until smooth.
  13. Drizzle the ganache over the cooled cookies.

Notes

  • You can add sprinkles on top of the ganache.
