Ingredients
- 6 medium apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji), peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Pour the apple mixture into an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the oat crumble topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
- You can add 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts to the crumble topping for added texture.
