Description

Homemade Detox Dog Treat Sticks with Carrot and Parsley are simple, crunchy, natural dog snacks made with everyday kitchen ingredients. These rustic homemade treats are made with oat flour, carrot, curly parsley, and egg for a wholesome baked snack dogs can enjoy in moderation.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oat flour
  • ½ cup finely grated carrot
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh curly parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened applesauce
  • 13 tablespoons water, as needed
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F / 175°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Wash and finely grate the carrot. Finely chop the curly parsley.
  3. In a bowl, mix oat flour, carrot, and parsley.
  4. Add egg and applesauce. Mix until a dough forms.
  5. Add water slowly, one tablespoon at a time, only if needed.
  6. Roll the dough into small stick shapes.
  7. Place on the baking tray and bake for 22–28 minutes.
  8. For crunchier treats, leave them in the warm oven for 10–15 minutes after baking.
  9. Let cool completely before serving.
  10. Store properly and serve as an occasional treat.

Notes

Use curly parsley only and in moderation. Store treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5–7 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
