Description

These Banana Peanut Butter Dog Sticks are simple homemade dog treats made with ripe banana, dog-safe peanut butter, oats, and egg. They bake into soft, rustic sticks that are perfect as an occasional snack or training reward.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 2 tablespoons plain dog-safe peanut butter
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 12 tablespoons water (only if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Mash the ripe banana in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  3. Add the peanut butter and egg, then stir until well combined.
  4. Mix in the rolled oats and oat flour until a thick dough forms.
  5. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more oat flour. If too dry, add water one tablespoon at a time.
  6. Shape the dough into short rustic sticks.
  7. Arrange the sticks on the prepared baking tray, leaving a little space between each.
  8. Bake for 22–28 minutes, until lightly golden and firm on the outside.
  9. Cool completely before serving to your dog.

Notes

Always use plain peanut butter that is completely xylitol-free and contains no added sugar, chocolate, or artificial sweeteners. Store treats in the refrigerator for up to 5 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Serve as an occasional treat alongside a balanced diet.
